Of the Colorado County Treasurer Association for 2009 – 2010

PRESS RELEASE – Gilpin County Treasurer and Public Trustee, Alynn K. Huffman, was installed as the President of the Colorado County Treasurer Association during their June conference in Carbondale, Colorado. Her peers voted that Alynn, who has been the Treasurer and Public Trustee for the past nine years in Gilpin County, has the knowledge and experience needed to lead the Association during the next year.

Alynn also has the distinction of being “Certified” by the State Association. In order to accomplish this goal a Treasurer must meet several criteria set by the Association during a four-year term relating to experience, education and leadership. Alynn completed this goal in 2006 and will re-certify in 2010.

CCTA provides support and education to all 64 County Treasurers in Colorado. CCTA hosts two statewide meetings each year to discuss new legislation which might affect County Treasurers’ offices. The Association also supports ideas beneficial to County Treasurers and their taxpayers and develops a practical study of any problems encountered by County Treasurers. The common goal of CCTA is to increase efficiency and consistency of service to the general public and to all county governments.
