The Second Annual Kingdom of Gilpin Ball

Gilpin County Clerk & Recorder Jessica Lovingier announced this week that tickets for the 2nd annual Kingdom of Gilpin Ball on May 15th will go on sale April 20th. The Ball is a black-tie event with entertainment, dancing, food, beverages, and a silent auction, where all proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales will be donated to the Gilpin County Food Bank.

Lovingier said, “The First Annual Kingdom of Gilpin Ball was held in June 2008 in Central City and proved to be a huge success. With the collaboration and compassion of many businesses and individuals a check for over $6,300 was given to the Gilpin County Food Bank, increasing the yearly donations by 42% in a time when it has been most critical.”

The Gilpin County Food Bank helps feed 50-60 qualifying families each month – giving each one food box per month. Anyone eligible for assistance can utilize the County Food Bank when their cupboards and wallets are bare. Because of the Food Bank, there is no need for any county resident to go hungry.

Gilpin County is determined to continue stocking the Food Bank shelves, and we are hoping many companies and individuals will help attain this goal for the Kingdom of Gilpin Ball. Every dollar earned will help improve the Food Bank. Ticket prices are – $30 each or $50 per couple in advance, and $40 at the door. The success of the Food Bank depends on the generosity of local residents and organizations. It is always in need of non-perishable items, canned foods, toiletries, etc., as well as direct financial assistance. If helping through the Kingdom of Gilpin Ball is not an option for you, we recommend donating items directly to the Food Bank. Your generosity will provide a tremendous amount of support to this cause. We could not do it without your support. Should you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jessica Lovingier at 303-582-5321 or check out the information posted on our website at www.GilpinBall.com.
