Pinecliffe Post Office celebrates 100th birthday
Invites community to help celebrate
PRESS RELEASE – The Pinecliffe Post Office will be celebrating its 100th birthday on March 8th. In honor of this historic occasion, the Post Office will be holding a week-long celebration with special activities from March 2-7 according to Postmaster Jeri Baker. The Post Office invites everyone in the community to stop by that week to join in on the centennial festivities.
“We will be presenting give-aways of special postal merchandise every day all that week,” says Postmaster Baker. “On Saturday, March 7 only, we will have a special grand prize drawing for all Post Office Box holders, and we will have refreshments for our customers all that day.”
“So we want to invite everyone, especially our loyal area Pinecliffe postal customers, to help celebrate this milestone event.”
The Pinecliffe Post Office was established on March 8, 1909, to serve the lumbermen and miners who remained after the construction of the Moffat Road through the area in the early 1900s. The Pinecliffe Summer Resort & Assembly Grounds was organized in 1905. The Post Office gained notice in the 1920s and 1930s as the mail stop for the famed Lincoln Hills resort just to the west. Today the Pinecliffe Post Office provides a full range of postal services to residents of Boulder and Gilpin counties living in the scenic area where Highway 72, the railroad and South Boulder Creek intersect.
Current Postmaster Jeri Baker is the 13th Postmaster in the Post Office’s treasured history. She has served as Pinecliffe Postmaster since 1985. “Again, we welcome all our regular patrons and visitors alike to our special celebration throughout the week of March 2 and especially on March 7th,” she adds.
The Pinecliffe Post Office’s customer service hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and closed noon – 1:00 am; except for Wednesdays when it is open 8:00 am to 10:00 am only; and on Saturdays it is open 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and closed from 12:30 am to 1:00 pm.
