Gilpin youth activities calendar

05/08/2008 - Clip this handy guide to keep your family involved in the activities for the youth of Gilpin County. All activities are family orientated and each would make a great way to spend time as a family, doing something fun - right here in Gilpin County.

May 10  Mother/Son Luau  Gilpin County Recreation Center. $15.00 per couple, $5.00 for each extra son.  Games, prize diving, dancing and food.

May 15  Spring Band Instrumental Concert

The students have worked hard all year for this concert. See how their work has paid off. Gilpin County School 7:00 p.m. FREE

May 17  Opening Day  Gilpin County Little League  9:00 am-6:00 pm. Gilpin County Baseball Fields (north of the Recreation Center, on Hwy 46). Games, face painting, food, balloon artist. FREE  See article-page ___.

June 3  Field Day 

This year the event will be held at Gilpin County Recreation Center. This is a day long event that has something for everyone. Watch as the children demonstrate their physical skills. Volunteers are still needed to help facilitate this event. Contact Ryan Witzell at 303-582-3444 if you can help. FREE   

June 4  Last Day of School and School Dances

June 6  Lazy Dayz of Summer Swim Party

All students and their families are invited to the first weekend of summer outdoor swim party. Organized by Dem Mountain Kids to kick off what will be the first of many events, this is the time to get outside and celebrate the end of school and the beginning of the summer break. 10:30 am to 6:00 pm. Stay all day or just a few hours. Look for us under the giant umbrella. Children over two are $5, adults $6. There will be concessions available but save some money and pack your lunch in a cooler. No glass or alcohol please. There will be treats, with organized games and prizes all day. Car pools are forming to drive to The Splash, Golden. Questions? Call 303-582-3333.
