05/08/2008 - Kiowa Invitational Meet

  Gilpin County Girls Track Team traveled to Elizabeth for the Kiowa track meet April 26th. Despite the bitter cold and high winds, the girl managed to place 8th in the 4 x 200 relay. Relay runners included Senior Sara Vaughn, and Freshman Megan Ball, Stephanie Pilcher and Ciara Ryan-Todd. Senior Kacey Gould beat her best time in the 100 meter hurdles with time of 20.64. Ciara Ryan-Todd also beat her best time in the 100 meter hurdles with time of 18.93. Stephanie Pilcher made her longest long jump of 11'1.5" and Megan Ball ran her 1st 100 meter, time of 15.05.

Nederland Invitational Meet

  Gilpin County Girls Track Team had their league meet put on by Nederland, in Boulder May 3rd. They competed against Nederland, Daysprings and Lutheran Parker.

  Senior Sara Vaughn place 1st in the long jump with her best jump this season of 14' 6.78," 3rd in the 400 meter with the time of 1:13.09 and ran the 100 meter dash in 14.53.

  Freshman Ciara Ryan-Todd placed 1st in the shot put with a throw of 24' 8.75," 1st in the 400 meter with the time of 1:11.34, 4th in the 200 meter with the time of 30.88, and 4th in the 100 meter hurdles with the time of 19.23.

  Freshman Megan Ball placed 4th in the shot put with a throw of 20' 10.5," and ran the 100 meter dash with her best time of 15.02. They were unable to run their relays due to two of their team mates being out ill.

  Come support these girls at the track regional's on May 10th in Limon.
