Gilpin School Calendar

04/17/2008 - Gilpin School is abuzz with activity as spring finally appears to be coming to our mountains.  Clip this handy guide to keep your family involved in the activities at Gilpin County School. All activities are family orientated and each would make a great way to spend time as a family, doing something fun--right here in Gilpin County.

April 17 – April 19  Fine Art Show 

A showing of all of the students’ selected works.  Hordevors will be served Thursday starting at 5:00 pm.  If you miss the opening, the fine art works will be on .display for your viewing pleasure Friday and Saturday nights to coincide with the play “A Pirates Life for Me ”  FREE

April 18 and 19  A Pirates Life for Me 

This play is presented by Gilpin students and is suitable for all age groups.  A good time is promised for your whole family as you watch the shenanigans of the pirates on Treasure Island. Cost is $5.00 for adults and only $2.00 for students.  7:00 pm in the school auditorium.

April 18  Spaghetti Dinner

Fundraiser benefiting Gilpin Montessori Program.  Full dinner with spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert is $6.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.  In the school cafeteria 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  Dinner served prior to “A Pirates Life for Me.”

April 23  World Market Day

Sixth grade social studies culminate in this presentation of each student’s specific world country report. The fifth grade this year will also participate by presenting a specific state of America.  Food and products of the students’ chosen area will be distributed.  Come, grab a bite and learn something new.  10:00 am-11:00 am in the Elementary Multi-Purpose Room.  FREE

 April 23  Pioneer Day

This highly anticipated event is the work of fourth grade students who enjoy this learning experience.  Come to see how the Pioneers lived.  A day long event at Gilpin County School.  FREE 

April 29  Spanish Dancers

Spanish Dancers perform at 3:00 pm in the school auditorium.  This is a fun event that will surely please both your ears and your eyes.  Bring all of your youngsters to see this spectacular cultural event.  FREE

May 8  Movie Night at Gilpin School

A time for the whole family to enjoy a reasonably priced movie in the school auditorium.  Snacks are for sale and benefit the Booster Club.  Adults $    Children $       .  Movie starts at _____ p.m. 

May 15  Spring Band Instrumental Concert

The students have worked hard all year for this concert.  See how their work has paid off.  7:00 p.m. FREE

June 3  Field Day 

This year the event will be held at Gilpin County Recreation Center.  A day long event that has something for everyone.  Watch as the children demonstrate their physical skills.  Volunteers are still needed to help facilitate this event. June 4  Last Day of School and School Dances
