- Saturday night, Feb. 10th, the Gilpin County Community Center hosted its third
annual Father/Daughter Sweetheart Ball. There were 78 girls of all ages with
their fathers and grandfathers having a wonderful time to remember. These young
ladies were dressed in their finest and one could tell how special they felt
with their dads. The fathers enjoyed dancing the night away and some left with a
new appreciation for the level of energy their daughters could sustain. Don’t
miss this event that has become a father/daughter tradition. Upcoming events at
the Community Center will be the Easter egg hunt & egg diving in the pool on
Wednesday, April 4th and the Mother/Son Hawaiian Pool Party on May 12th. Call
