The property was originally worked for its sulphide ore, but evolved in 1908 to producing high-grade tellurium ore. The War Dance Mine operated the old Quartz Hill Nevada Mines Mill located south of the Red Dolly parking lot between Black Hawk and Central City. This 10-stamp mill has been for sale for a few years and is located just below the Bates-Hunter Mine on Gregory Street where the road splits.
