Buell third at Vail Clara Aucoin Last Saturday Brian Buell was a skier, and a good one at that. Buell led the Nederland High School ski team with his third place finish in the Gold Peak Male Giant Slalom races held at Vail last weekend. On his first run Buell burned the course up with a time of 36.12, but his second run came in at 37.36 for a combined time of 1:13.5. This year the big senior is spending his final year at Nederland participating in as many sports as possible. He played soccer and football during the fall season, is competing in basketball and skiing during the winter, and there is any guess as to what he will do this spring. For the women, Erin McNary had the highest finish with 19th place and a time of 1:28.5. Other finishes were as follows: Jessica Hadford, 43, 1:38.3; Carissa Long, 59, 1:46.7; Elaine Filer, 60, 1:47.5; Kristin Buell, 64, 1:48.1; Leshelle Lencioni, 65, 1:49.1; Chandra Galbiati, 68, 1:52.6; Veronica Thomas, 71, 1:55.4; Sarah Gabel, 73, 1:56.0; Jill Sundy, 87, 2:;10.2; and Maricamen Stout, 88, 2:17.3.
